Crossing the finish line...

While at Iberdrola Renewables from 2005-2008, Auxo Energy founder Jesper J. Michaelsen, lead the project development work and secured the necessary land control, interconnection agreements, environmental studies and permitting approvals for a total of 400MW of wind power plants in the USA. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Michaelsen also lead these two projects through internal investment approvals. The 300MW wind power plant in Illinois, USA was subsequently constructed in 2009/2010 and it has been in commercial operation since 2010. The 100MW wind power plant in Iowa, USA was constructed in 2011/2012 and has been in commercial operation since 2012

Securing long term success...

In addition, while at Iberdrola Renewables from 2005-2008, Auxo Energy founder Jesper J. Michaelsen, lead the greenfield project development work and secured a project development pipeline of over 800MW of advanced stage projects, and a pipeline of about 400MW of early-stage projects. The sites ranged from 80MW to 400MW and were located in multiple states in the Midwest of the USA. The project development work included, among others, securing land leases and land lease options, conducting community and landowner meetings, securing interconnection positions as well as creating and executing development budgets, business cases, and project plans. A large portion of the MW in this projects in this pipeline has since been constructed and are in commercial operation.

Finding solutions...

During his tenure at Vestas Americas from 1998 to 2005, Auxo Energy founder Jesper J. Michaelsen negotiated and closed over 650MW of wind turbine supply agreements, including the associated long term service and maintenance agreements. The agreements covered wind power plants ranging from 1MW to 320MW and helped bring significant investments and economic activity to the site locations. Related experiences include negotiation and execution of frame agreements, exclusivity agreements and term sheets and key account management. During this period from 1999 through 2005, Mr. Michaelsen supported USA and Canada market expansion through active business development and lobby efforts at both county, state and federal level and in close cooperation with industry associations, elected officials, government administrators, and political leaders.

Ensuring long term plant performance...

During his tenure at Vestas Wind Systems from 2009 to 2014, Auxo Energy founder Jesper J. Michaelsen was responsible for Vestas' service and solutions product management, including leading a team of highly skilled product managers. The focus was to continuously grow the service business and on transforming Vestas' world-class competencies within wind power plant optimization and plant operations into new products and services and into new wind turbine sales opportunities. The project optimization included identification of new attractive sites globally, optimized turbine siting and plant layout based on energy production and long term service needs as well and creating cost-effective grid compliant power plants with advanced power plant control features. In addition, the work at Vestas included creating new service and maintenance offerings, including offerings of that minimize wind power plant downtime, optimize energy production and provide long term business case certainty. While working with experts across Vestas, the focus on ongoing wind power plant optimization lead to the launch of a number of new products and services that increased the annual energy production and improved the overall investment on existing plants.
